Van Diemans Abyss from the Underwater series is a deep black ink. It dries in 60 seconds in a medium nib on Rhodia and has a wet flow. Van Diemans ink is made in Australia.

Van Dieman’s Underwater is the 7thseries from Van Diemans Ink. Inspired by the Flora, Fauna, regions and mystery of the ocean, this collection of sixteen fountain pen and shimmer inks contains some of our most unique and experimental inks to date.
Abyssis based upon the Abyssopelagic zone, the 4thoceanic zone, and is the point where the ocean floor flattens out after the continental drop. It resembles a dark and mysterious level in which all lifeforms take on wonderful alien-like abilities and traits. Absolutely no light reaches this region and we have utilized a high concentration of a unique Indian dye to make this ink our most saturated black yet.
