Sailor CYLINT Patina Fountain Pen

Description

The CYLINT, first released in September 2023, is different from Sailor’s traditional 1911 or Pro Gear models.

The Patina fountain pen is crafted by master artisans out of brass, with a brown Hanmon-Kujyaku (mottled peacock) patina finish. This appearance is achieved through a process from Takaoka, Japan,which has been used for over 400 years. Through controlling heat and chemical reactions,the process results in a color variation that resembles apeacock’s feathers. The intentional corrosion and oxidation of thebrass material have a unique look, which will evolve over time and continue to gain depth. Since each pen is made by hand, each patina color pattern is unique, withno two pens being identical.

Cleaning:

Wipe gently with a slightly damp cloth, then wipe again with a dry cloth. Always make sure to store the pen when it is fully dry, because any residual moisture may cause the piece to tarnish. It is the normal and natural for brass to change color over time and this change is a trait to be expected and cherished.
