Pennonia Meggyes (Sour Cherry) is a dark maroon red with medium shading. It dries in 30 seconds in a medium nib on Rhodia and has an average flow. Pennonia is a Hungarian company.

PennoniaMeggyesis a dark burgundy with excellent flow and a rich, strong color. The ink is saturated but can still offer shading properties. The name translates simply toSour Cherryand Mt, the maker of Pennonis inks, chose it becausethey had a huge sour cherry tree in the garden duringhis childhood. He always liked how beautiful the tree was when it was full of fruit, the colors ranging from vivid red all the way to an almost complete black.He and his cousinsused to hang the cherries ontheir ears and wore them as earrings. Ironically, he never liked the taste of sour cherries.
