Van Diemans Hanging Lake from the Wilderness Series is a dark denim blue black with low shading. It dries in 20 seconds in a medium nib on Rhodia and has an average flow. Van Diemans ink is made in Australia.

Van Dieman’s is a proud Australian company that has made a concerted effort to improved their inks formula’s and sourcing. Van Dieman’s inks will consist of at least 90 percent Australian ingredients which will allow them to proudly state and be labeled as made in Australia.

Situated within the isolated east Arthur ranges of Tasmania’s South West Wilderness is Hanging Lake, one of the highest altitude melt-water tarns, a serene majestic dark blue lake hidden within the rugged backdrop of Federation Peak. Van Dieman’s wanted to take our time with this color to do this untouched wilderness justice. This ink is a dark blue-black ink with a strong mahogany sheen and is excellent for everyday writing.

Van Dieman’s Wilderness Series is ten fountain pen inks inspired by the majestic, beautiful and ofttimes humbling wonders that await in the Tasmanian wilds. As an extension of our original Van Dieman’s Colors Tasmania, and as a series unto itself, we created the Wilderness Series to encapsulate the natural colors of this awe-inspiring and untouched southern land.
